Wyoming

When Erin and I were driving from Colorado to Montana I drove from 2 am until around 5 am when the sun started coming up. Erin took lots of pictures of the pretty sunrise, then took over driving. These are our first roadtrip pictures.

Riley in Wyoming!! He loved looking out the window. :)

This was the super awesome diner in Kaycee, Wyoming! Erin and I got breakfast for $8. Total. She looks exhausted because she is.

This is a random Wyoming building. I thought it looked cool.

Erin, driving in Wyoming. I'm not sure what she's saying.. but she is happy, despite the funky look on her face. :)

The road is RED! And the top of the hill-rock is red too. So awesome!

The rocks were amazing to a little East Coast girl.

This was a super cool rock in Wyoming. I got the best picture of it out the back window.

Independance Rock, Wyoming. The cloud was awesome, because you could see under and over it. Erin really loved the cloud and rock.

Yup, those funky dots are the squished bugs on the car window.. but the sun looked so beautiful coming over the rocks.

Erin and I had a really hard time getting good pictures of the sunrise. Evil digital camera...

Another of the sunrise in Wyoming.

So after admiring the beautiful landscape, Erin and I came upon this sign. It says "Big Muddy Oil Fields." Yes, what we thought was beautiful is a big, muddy oil field. Wyoming must have really high standards for beauty!

Big Elk River, part 2

I love the deep blue-teal of the water. Beautiful!

Another of the deeper water.

I took this picture of myself near the water. Not bad!

The water was gurgling through these stones. I brought the piece of sandstone home as one of my rocks. :)

Love this. It's so peaceful.

A bottle I found burried in the dirt. Who knows how old it was, because it was very well burried!

Another of the burried bottle. For some reason I thought it was picturesque.

Denver

How about some pictures from Denver now?!

Here is "Downtown Denver." There's alot of space between the buildings, and they are all really short. Also, the streets are in squares. It's all very mathematical... very odd.

I adore this picture. It's looking up through Erin's sunroof. The building on the right looks funky because of the light reflecting off the windows on the building on the left.

Another looking up picture, although not quite as awesome. Look - no clouds!

This was an amazing building.. and the wall thingy got in the way of my picture.

Big Elk River

Me looking at Big Elk River. It was beautiful there.

Erin found a cattle skull, so we took a picture first, then I picked it up and Erin put it in the car to bring home.

Look! I found a Prairie Dog skeleton!

Prairie dog skeleton.. I tried to pick up the skull for Erin.. but it still had prairie dog stuck to it.

Yup, another prairie dog skeleton picture.

This was a picture of some rocks I was debating taking.. I ended up choosing a rock slightly more to the left than the picture.

I took this while I went on a rock search by myself. It's so pretty!

I thought this was a cool looking tree.

Big Elk River, in all it's beauty. Love it.

Erin and Riley looking at the water. Riley pulled his head out of his collar, so Erin was using her keys as a collar.

Erin pulling up a rock.. the water was ice cold!

Erin, caught on the branch. She looks so happy! :)

Hmm, I wonder how I will cross the river..

My first leap across the water. Erin swore I was going to get SOAKED, but I didn't!

Me, looking for the right rocks from the center of the river.

Hey, look! I found the perfect rock to bring to Mom!

Here I am assessing the leap back across the water.

Me, looking oh-so-graceful on my leap back across the water. I really ran full speed into that branch.

Airports

Here are pictures from the airports. :)

This is the bathroom in the Albany International Airport. I spent an extra two and a half hours there, because my flight was delayed. I took this picture because I decided I needed an odd picture so I would be able to see the start of my trip pictures on the camera.

Here's my first picture from Chicago. This is the cot they gave me to sleep on in O'Hare airport. Because my flight was delayed I ended up spending the night there. They gave us cots in baggage claim to sleep on... then got us up at 4 am because they had to open the airport. Ugh. I spent just about all the time in Chicago Airport with Dan, a guy from Seattle that I met on the plane from Albany to Chicago.
These are the stairs in O'Hare airport. Very steep. Can you tell we were overtired and bored, wandering the airport while waiting for flights at 9:45 am?
The people movers in O'Hare! They had funky music playing in the background, and the cool lights flashing on the ceiling and the spectrum colors on the walls.. I really liked it in my sleep-deprived state. The pretty pretty lights on the ceiling while I'm moving on the people movers. I looked like such a tourist... and I didn't care.
The hall where we sat. And Sat. This was after we stopped wandering the airport because we saw every single terminal and every single gate. Ahh the things you do to keep yourself awake in an airport. O'Hare is big, but not scary anymore! These were the really cool things hanging off the ceiling in O'Hare. They commissioned teenagers to make them and paid them for it. It's part of their get-kids-off-the-streets program. My first view of the rockies, from Colorado Springs Airport. I was there for about 5 minutes to switch planes and take a 15 min flight to Denver.Last Airport picture! This is the sign in Colorado Springs for the plane to Denver. By the time I got to Denver I was way to much a walking zombie to take any pictures.
